Anger Management
What is the percentage of relapse after anger management classes?

I am wondering what the percentage of relapse is after anger management classes? I would like maybe a study that was done in Australia but if you have any information of over seas studies that you can share, I would much like it.

Thank you

I don’t know a percentage but I do know that people cannot get better if they do not want to. Those who go in to anger management need to want help, or it is a waist of time. I know from personal experience and from watching many people go through it.

It is vital then that we “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” One of the most dangerous and deceptive spirits is a spirit of anger. Jame…

Anger and Addiction: Breaking the Relapse Cycle – A Teaching Guide for Professionals

$7.09

A step-by-step guide for helping clients target the anger that underlies their substance abuse behaviors …. In working with persons recovering from alcoholism, the author noted that relapse appeared to correlate with the client’s difficulty expressing feelings of anger and hostility. This volume describes the dynamics of the anger-relapse connection, as well as the intervention strategies the author developed to address it. Combining psycho-educational, rational-emotive, and cognitive-behavioral models, she outlines a 12-session plan involving clients in three stages: (1) identifying the determinants of anger and addiction and the impact of past experience on their current response choices, (2) intervention strategies (e.g., time-out, self-talk, personalizing responses, problem solving, stress management), and (3) ongoing application. evaluation, and modification of emotions, cognitions, behaviors, and the interventions. — Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic
