Hi today was my 17 week ultrasound with the specialist and they did a complete check for birth defects. I?
could see the three lines and that said it is a girl and they checked all the organs and they even showed me her ovaries so does that mean I can rest assured that it is defiantly a girl I have read so many times on here that they are often wrong about saying it is a girl and then it turns out to be a boy but this is my fifth ultrasound and every ultrasound they have said girl I am ready to buy pink
Go buy a really cute pink frilly dress and rest assured that you are having a little girl. The technology is way more advanced than it used to be, and I haven’t heard about anyone recently being told that it was a girl only to have a boy. I found out at 16 weeks that I was having a girl, and guess what, she came out a girl. Congratulations.

A Commentary on Thucydides $104.49 This is the first volume of a three-volume historical and literary commentary on the eight books of Thucydides, the great fifth-century BC historian of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Of the three books covered in this volume, Book I presents Thucydides’ aims in writing thework and the historical background to the war. Books II and III describe the main events of the first five years of the war (431-426) and include Pericles’ funeral oration, the plague of Athens, the revolt of Mytilene, the destruction of Plataea, and civil war in Corcyra. Thucydides intended his work to be an everlasting Possession and the continuing importance of his work is undisputed. Simon Hornblower’s commentary, by translating every passage or phrase of Greek commented on, for the first time allows the reader with little or no Greek to appreciate the detailof Thucydides’ thought and subject-matter. It is the first complete commentary written by a single author this century and explores both the historical and literary aspects of the work. A full index is provided at the end of the volume. |

A Commentary on the Complete Greek Tragedies $22.5 This commentary offers a rich introduction and useful guide to the seven surviving plays attributed to Aeschylus. Though it may profitably be used with any translation of Aeschylus, the commentary is based on the acclaimed Chicago translations, The Complete Greek Tragedies, edited by David Grene and Richmond Lattimore. James C. Hogan provides a general introduction to Aeschylean theater and drama, followed by a line-by-line commentary on each of the seven plays. He places Aeschylus in the historical, cultural, and religious context of fifth-century Athens, showing how the action and metaphor of Aeschylean theater can be illuminated by information on Athenian law athletic contests, relations with neighboring states, beliefs about the underworld, and countless other details of Hellenic life. Hogan clarifies terms that might puzzle modern readers, such as place names and mythological references, and gives special attention to textual and linguistic issues: controversial questions of interpretation; difficult or significant Greek words; use of style, rhetoric, and commonplaces in Greek poetry; and Aeschylus’s place in the poetic tradition of Homer, Hesiod, and the elegiac poets. Practical information on staging and production is also included, as are maps and illustrations, a bibliography, indexes, and extensive cross-references between the seven plays. Forthcoming volumes will cover the works of Sophocles and Euripides. |

A Dictionary of Genetics $80.98 The publication of this fully updated edition of A Dictionary of Genetics coincides with the hundredth anniversary of the introduction of the term genetics by William Bateson in 1906 at the Third International Conference on Genetics. Since then genetics has made tremendous advances inknowledge and technique and now occupies a pivotal position in the life sciences as the most powerful means for probing fundamental questions in cell biology, development, and evolution. The determination of sequences of complete genomes, the study of gene expression and genetic variation on aglobal scale, and the ability to rapidly amplify gene sequences and to achieve targeted gene disruptions are just some examples of major achievements in this field. Proliferation of new terms inevitably accompanies such remarkable progress. This new edition of the Dictionary addresses the needs ofstudents, educators, and clinical geneticists for an authoritative and up-to-date reference work that not only defines the latest terms, but in most cases, also presents important ancillary encyclopedic information. A Dictionary of Genetics is unique in that it includes terms from a wide range of disciplines which now intertwine with genetics, including molecular biology, cell biology, medicine, botany, and evolutionary studies. Its 7,000 cross-referenced definitions are supported by an excellent collection ofline drawings, tables, and chemical formulae. One-fifth of the Dictionary is devoted to six appendices to which the definitions are cross-referenced and which contain an extraordinary trove of supplementary information. This includes a chronology of important advances spanning the years 1590to2005, lists of useful internet sites and periodicals, a classification of living organisms into an evolutionary hierarchy, and a sample table of genome sizes and gene numbers. These features make A Dictionary of Genetics a lexicon unparalleled in the field. For the first time, the Dict |

An Historical Commentary on the Hellenica Oxyrhynchia $44 Commentaries on the Hellenica Oxyrhynchia, an anonymous history of events in the Greek world in the late fifth and early fourth centuries BC, have usually dealt almost entirely with problems of the text. In this book, Dr Bruce has written an historical commentary, basing his work on both the London and Florence papyri, which between them provide all the surviving fragments of the text. Dr Bruce begins with a brief description of the two papyri. He then discusses the Oxyrhynchus historian’s style and method – his sources, chronology, bias, interest in causation, etc. The introduction ends with a resume of the numerous theories of the author’s identity (Dr Bruce favours either Cratippus or an author not known to us by name at all). The main part of the commentary is arranged in the form of notes on the sections of the Greek text, with occasional detailed notes on particular words or phrases. There are appendices on the Battle of Sardis and the Constitution of Boeotia; and the book concludes with a full biography. Dr Bruce’s book is a complete guide available for further historical study of the Hellenica Oxyrhynchia. |

Clutch Cargo Cartoon Collection V01 $14.99 Clutch Cargo was a globe-trotting adventurer, writer and pilot. He would fly from one problem to another along with his apprentice Spinner, dachshund Paddlefoot, and his pal Swampy. Cambria pioneer its patented Syncho-Vox system (developed by Edwin Gillette for talking animal commercials in the 1950s) with this cartoon. The Syncho-Vox systems combined still animation cells of the characters and live actors’ lips superimposed over the characters heads to make the animation. Producer Clark Haas referred to Cambria’s process of limited animation as motorized movement. Cardboard cutouts of the character sometimes would be moved by hand past the background. To produce Synchro-Vox, the voice actor would be filmed in close-up, with a mask hiding everything but the actor’s lips. Heavy makeup was used to ensure that the actors’ skin color matched that of the cartoon characters. When in action, rather than animate the character, the cells were shaken, or the camera zoomed to simulate the motion. There were a total of 52 Clutch Cargo adventures produced. Each adventure or complete story arc was made up of five, five-minute chapters. The first four chapters ended in cliff-hangers, with the fifth chapter wrapping up the adventure. VCI’s first collection contains a total of 9 adventure episodes on 1 dual-layer DVD!Includes the episodes Pirate Isle, Twaddle in Africa, Air Race, Dynamite Fury, Water Wizards, Dragon Fly’s, Friendly Head Hunters, Race Car Mystery, and Elephant Nappers! |

Cradle of America: Four Centuries of Virginia History $29.95 Virginia is definitely for lovers–of history! As the site of the first permanent English settlement in North America, the birthplace of a presidential dynasty, and the gateway to western growth in the nation’s early years. Virginia can rightfully be called the cradle of America. In this first single-authored history of Virginia since the 1970s, Peter Wallenstein traces major themes across four centuries in a brisk narrative that recalls the people and events that have shaped the Old Dominion. Historical accounts of Virginia have often emphasized harmony and tradition, but Wallenstein focuses on the impact of conflict and change. From the beginning, Virginians have debated and challenged each other’s visions of Virginia, and Wallenstein shows how these differences have influenced its sometimes turbulent development. Casting an eye on blacks as well as whites, and on people from both east and west of the Blue Ridge Mountains, he traces such key themes as political power, racial identity, and education. Bringing to bear his long experience teaching Virginia history, Wallenstein takes readers back, even before Jamestown, to the Elizabethan settlers at Roanoke Island and the inhabitants they encountered, as well as to Virginia’s leaders of the American Revolution. He chronicles the state’s dramatic journey through the Civil War era, a time that revealed how the nation’s evolution sometimes took shape in opposition to the vision of many leading Virginians. He also examines the impact of the civil rights movement and considers controversies that accompany Virginia into its fifth century. The text is copiously illustrated to depict not only such iconic figures as Pocahontas, GeorgeWashington, and Robert E. Lee, but also such other prominent native Virginians as Edgar Allan Poe, Carter G. Woodson, and Patsy Cline. Sidebars throughout the book offer further insight, while maps and appendixes of reference data make the volume a complete resource on Virginia’s history. As pe |
