Can a couple with brown eyes and blue eyes have a baby with a color other than brown?
If the mother is homozygous for brown eyes and the husband has blue eyes, is there any way, by either incomplete dominance or co-dominance, that the baby could have an eye color other than brown? If so, are the chances of that very slim?
Scientifically, If we make a punnet square, the probabilities that we get for each colour is BB=50%, Bb=50%. Which means if co-dominance or incomplete dominance doesn’t occur, there are 100% changes that the baby will have Brown eyes; however, if co-dominance or incomplete dominance do occur, then there are 50% chances that they will not be Brown. Nevertheless, Brown eyes genes are very dominant, therefore, they reduces the chances of getting any other colour. Although, the baby may have green eyes, but the chances are about 3% in the world.
