SONY 53 PROJECTION TV TIMER/STAND BY Llight blinks constantly?
When I turn my SONY KP-53S65 projection tv on, all that happens is the TIMER/STAND BY light blinks constantly.
No audio or video at all. I took the back off and checked the only fuse I could see and that is fine.
I have tried to do the “factory reset” to see if that does it, but no video to see the screen menus just followed the book. And the TIMER was not set, Even if it was, I waited 12 hours and still just a blinking TIMER light.
Power supply and everything else is fine, another TV works fine on same connection for electric and cable.
The flashing light is basically an indicator that something internally is not functioning. The pattern would be indicative of the error, however without being a service technician or obtaining the Service Manual you wouldn’t know. The best bet is to simply call sony and locate a local service center to have the unit repaired. You may be able to have a technician visit yout home, but it will of course cost more as opposed to you transporting the unit.
And PLEASE do not attempt to locate a service manual and try to fix it. If you do not have training in repairing TV’s, you shouldn’t try to.
